Kirby’s latest book is a beautifully written story that examines the myth and legend of a person versus their reality. Especially as, much like spring in upstate NY, there is snow when there should be sun and rain. In the last weeks of her senior year, buttoned-up valedictorian Parker Frost promises her adventurous best friend Kat that she will do something “Unexpected, worthwhile, and big” for once. Like, books that just scream I AM SUMMER, READ ME Well, I thought that Golden by Jessi Kirby is an utterly perfect spring book.
